DWP - An Ultra Thin OERA Implementation (Peter van Dam)

This session discusses the Dynamic WebClient Architecture, an ultra thin implementation of the OpenEdge Reference Architecture. The server is repository driven and completely dynamic, resulting in a small server footprint capable of supporting thousands of clients. On the client side Progress, .NET and Web Services clients have been implemented. Since these clients are also dynamic and the architecture minimizes the number of AppServer calls, this results in ultra thin clients with excellent performance, even over slow internet connections.

10:00 - 11:00 Creating a Dynamic .NET client for OpenEdge 10 (Peter van Dam)

This session describes an ongoing project to create a completely dynamic .NET interface for Progress applications. The dynamic .NET client is being developed in C# and connects to a repository driven OpenEdge 10 AppServer. The session will focus on the Progress OpenEdge 10 technology used in this project and, as far as possible, will avoid the C# source code
